Louise Andrew

Louise Andrew’s musical journey began at the piano as a young girl. It was her mother who first heard of a harp teacher at St Mary’s and gently encouraged Louise to explore further, a path that led Louise to her teacher, Cathie Harrop. Beginning on the school’s lever harp, she developed her skills before, three years later, transitioning to a beautiful Lyon & Healy pedal harp that was graciously donated to the school. As her final year of college approached, it became time to find an instrument of her own. With the support of her parents and grandparents, and guided by Cathie, Louise found her cherished Lyon & Healy Chicago Petite pedal harp, which she named Harriet.

Together, Louise and Harriet have performed on many stages, at a variety of events and at beautiful weddings, bringing a sense of warmth and quiet magic to each occasion. They have also played with a number of community and professional orchestras, a journey that has taken her internationally to Tahiti (2012), France (2016), and Australia (2025).

Based in South Auckland, Louise offers private lessons to students of all ages and levels, with a focus on developing both strong technique and expressive musicality. She is also available to perform at weddings and other special events, bringing a graceful and enchanting musical presence to each occasion.
